Herzing University Names Longworth as VP of Information Technology and CIO

MILWAUKEE, (December 22, 2011) – Herzing University announced today that Nigel Longworth is its new vice president of information technology and CIO, based at the Milwaukee headquarters. “Nigel will be a valuable asset in meeting strategic objectives through technology and in serving our students and faculty, due to his wealth of experience in both higher education and in supporting organizational needs across multiple locations worldwide,” said Renée Herzing, president, Herzing University.

Most recently, Longworth served as the head of IT for the Milwaukee School of Engineering, a non-profit higher education institution, providing him with a sound foundation in the information technology needs of a higher education institution. He also served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU).

Prior to joining MSOE, Nigel served as the general manager of information services for ManpowerGroup - Australia/New Zealand, based in Sydney, Australia, where he was responsible for creating and delivering technology services for 70 locations. In this role, he was also responsible for IT support for the outsourced recruitment of all Navy, Army and Air Force enlistments for the Australian government.

Longworth holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UW-Madison and a master’s degree in computer science from UW-Milwaukee.
