Herzing University provides four outstanding programs for those interested in Computer Science careers. Our coordinated stepladder approach allows students to explore this field and effectively prepare for the specific careers that best meet their individual goals.
The proven hands-on curriculum in the associate degree program prepares students for many entry-level positions. It also provides the basis of our three bachelor’s degree programs. Students have the option of beginning with the Associate in Computer Science and then furthering their education with a:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Technology Management with a concentration in Computer Science
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Networking and Security

Associate and Associate of Applied Science in Computer Science
This program provides students with the fundamentals of programming, networking, troubleshooting, Internet applications and databases. Graduates are prepared for entry-level careers in a wide range of computer support positions.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science – Software Engineering
In addition to the core computer science curriculum, students take in-depth classes in the various aspects of software engineering. This includes object-oriented programming, business systems analysis, and database concepts and applications. Graduates are prepared to design innovative software for a wide range of businesses. They may specialize in developing and modifying either applications software or systems software.
Bachelor of Science in Technology Management – Computer Science
In addition to a strong foundation in the fundamentals of computer science, students study networking as well as the related business and management courses. Graduates have the business credentials and technical capabilities needed to manage systems and direct network technology in today’s corporate setting.

Computer Networking & Security Technology
In addition to the solid computer science curriculum, students take in-depth courses in the various aspects of computer networking, firewalls, routers and switches as well as systems administration scripting and security protocols. Graduates are prepared for careers in virtually any public service, private industry or government organization.
