Dental Assisting & Dental Hygiene Licensing Requirements

To succeed in these growing career fields, Minnesota requires candidates to graduate from an accredited program.
- The dental assisting and dental hygiene programs at the Minneapolis campus are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA) (312-440-2500).
- Dental assisting graduates will be prepared to sit for the Minnesota Board of Dentistry Licensing Exam, Jurisprudence Exam, and the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam to become a Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) in the State of Minnesota and a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
- Dental hygiene graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Board Dental Hygiene Exam, Jurisprudence Exam, and the CRDTS Examination, which (upon successful completion) would provide the graduate the opportunity to become a Licensed Dental Hygienist (LDH).
