Most of Herzing’s required classes are related to preparing our graduates to take the ADDA Professional certification examinations – AD, CD, CDD, CDT and DIT. These examinations are international certification programs that allow apprentice drafters, drafters, designers, design drafters, design technicians, engineering and architectural technicians and digital imaging technicians, as well as other graphic professionals to indicate their knowledge in professional concepts and internationally recognized standards and practices.
ADDA developed these examinations to elevate an individual's comprehension of the professional standards related to design drafting and the graphics profession. Certification enables drafters to demonstrate professional capabilities and helps employers in identifying quality employees. The test does not cover software which is specific to computer aided drafting or design (CADD) or graphic production.
The ADDA Drafter Certification Examination is open to all individuals, regardless of experience and formal education. Membership in ADDA is not required for you to take the test or become certified.
