Associate of Science in Drafting and Design Technology
Students learn the CAD system and software skills needed to produce work that meets industry standards. The curriculum focuses on architecture, structural, HVAC and mechanical design. Students study AutoCad, geometric dimensioning and tolerance as well as 3D modeling and drafting standards. They also gain the well-rounded background provided by the required general education courses. Graduates will be prepared for an entry-level position in almost any company’s drafting or design department. Specific career opportunities may be in areas such as detailing, layout and design work for architects, consulting engineers and builders.
Potential job titles include CAD Drafters, CAD Designers, CAD Specialists, CAD Technicians, Drafting Detailers, Engineer Drafters, and Application Designers.
