I chose Akron Institute because I liked the small class sizes. I also liked the fact that they helped me find externships.

Another reason I chose Akron Institute was that I have a child, and I was able to attend school year-round. I feel like I learned everything I could have learned at a four-year school in a shorter amount of time. Also, I really like my instructors. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.

At the end of my program, I felt like I was ready to go out and get a job. Akron Institute helped me get an externship, and I was hired when it was complete.

I’m a student here at Akron Institute and I’m in the nursing program. I spent the year 2005 in Baghdad, Iraq as a combat medic. I chose to go to Akron Institute because as an older student who just got out of the military I didn’t have much of a future. Most places around here wouldn’t take my military experience, and I needed some place to get a job as fast as I could. So I came to Akron Institute.

The biggest thing I like about my education experience here has to be the hands on experience I get. At most schools you don’t get the one-on-one interaction that you get here, and it helps you get more clinical experience with patients.

At Akron Institute, the teachers are dedicated. They want to be here, they want you to learn, which is a little different from the bigger institutions where you’re just a number. Here they want to see you succeed, they want to see you in a career, they want to see you become a colleague of theirs. They don’t really care about anything else.

I chose Akron Institute because it was a fast-track way to earn a degree, and being a mother of two children, I didn’t have the time to dedicate to a large university. I also liked the one-on-one interaction with my instructors.

The best thing I liked about the Business Administration program was the small class size. Classmates became friends, and we became very close with all of our teachers and we were all willing to help each other out.

The instructors taught us how to use our skills. It wasn’t just sitting in a classroom listening to lectures. The instructors show you how to use the skills you learn within your everyday work.
