Since 1965 Herzing students have been serious about their education, and Herzing staff have been serious about assisting each student in finding the right job.
Each Herzing campus has a Career Development Department that is dedicated to:
- Preparing students with job-seeking skills
- Working with students to develop a polished resume
- Providing individual assistance during the job search process
- Working with area employers to develop job leads and interviews
- Providing valuable work experience through industry externships
- Assisting students with part-time employment (if needed) while enrolled in classes at Herzing

Akron Institute

Industry Externships
Externships are an integral part of every program at Akron Institute. The purpose of the externship is to provide every student with an opportunity to hone his or her skills while acquiring valuable industry experience. It also gives an organization an opportunity to evaluate the graduate's skills and knowledge without any commitment and at virtually no expense. Many of the externships lead directly to permanent employment for our graduates.

Helping our students find employment is the main goal of the Herzing University Career Development department; we help with your job search from day one of your enrollment with us.
Career Development will assist in searching for part-time employment while in school, work experience in your field while in school, or employment within your field after graduation. We help our students prepare resumes, cover letters, reference lists, follow-up documentation, and any other professional documents required for your job search.
We assist in job searching and interview preparation as well as general career search advice. Sometimes having another person on your side while searching for the right career fit is a help in itself. At Herzing University, the Career Development Department assists students with employment from day one. We are happy to provide our students and graduates with the tools necessary for a successful employment search. This includes assistance with resumes and other career documents, interviewing skills, and identifying employment opportunities. We also conduct several career expos each year in order to bring our employers on campus to meet with our students and alumni, and to discuss employment opportunities. The Career Development Department posts job opportunities each week which our students and alumni can pursue.
