The first Herzing campus was founded in 1965 by Henry Herzing, a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy (Senior Missile Test Officer, White Sands), and his wife, Suzanne. From its beginning as a computer training school, the Herzing University system has grown to include campuses in eight U.S. states plus the Online Campus, which is headquartered along with the Herzing Administrative Offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Chief Academic Officer of the University, Dr. Bill Getter, is a retired Air Force officer. For over a decade, Dr. Getter taught in and managed degree programs for military members online and on military bases throughout the world.
