Homeland Security and Public Safety Programs
A Herzing University degree in Homeland Security and Public Safety can be applied to many careers within the security, emergency, and law enforcement fields. Students who begin with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and can then roll their credits into either the Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety or the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program. Or, students can enroll directly into the bachelor degree program and finish it in as little as three years.

Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety with No Minor or Concentration
This degree program is designed to prepare professionals who will be responsible for identifying potential terrorist targets and maintaining public safety. The core courses in homeland security, public safety, and criminal justice are completed in this degree as well as an individual capstone project. Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security with a Concentration in Criminal Justice
Offered only at Birmingham Campus. Students will learn the necessary skills and knowledge for entry-level positions in either law enforcement, fire service, or private security businesses. Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety with a Concentration in Emergency Medical Technology
Offered only at Birmingham Campus. This program provides students with the skills and academic knowledge for entry-level positions in law enforcement, fire service, or private security. Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Homeland Security
Designed for those who do not wish to transfer a large number of previous college credits, students in this degree program move beyond the core criminal justice and homeland security and public safety programs with coursework in criminal psychology and investigation, narcotics and financial crimes.
