Welcome to Montréal a vibrant city of festivals and much more

Montreal is a major centre for 21st-century technologies, notably in the aerospace, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, information technology and telecommunications sectors, enhanced by a concentration of research centers and four universities. In the cultural industries, as well, it is a major player: multimedia and special effects software companies, like Discreet and Softimage, have developed in a city with a formidable telecommunications sector, dominated by Bell Canada (BCE) and Nortel Networks (one of the world’s largest producers of optical fiber networks).

The Cité Multimédia enterprise zone (website: www.citemultimedia.com) and E-Commerce Place have been a huge success (website: www.cce-ecom.com). The different buildings that form the Cité du Multimédia are home to companies active in the domains of information technology and multimedia. E-Commerce Place is a set of two towers whose main occupant is U.S.-based Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC). These buildings were custom-designed to meet the needs of the IT industry.

This city is bursting with creative energy and is also host to two Animation giants such as Ubisoft and Electronic Arts, both creators of popular video games.

The video game industry has taken the IT market by storm generating billions of dollars in revenue. The decision EA took to set up shop in Montreal was based on the fact that Quebecers are known to excel in the creative arts. They believe in the quality of the educational system and the pool of talent available in Montreal and its surroundings.

Other giants of the IT industry in Montreal are CGI, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Bombardier and many more, all of which hire Herzing College graduates.
