The average length of time for a student taking a full course load is nine semesters. A minimum of 125 semester credit hours is required for graduation. Credits from other accredited institutions will be reviewed for transferability.

This course covers the basics of corrections including historical events and social issues which have shaped our current systems. The course also covers functions of corrections including contemporary prison populations, custodial structure, prisoner rights and legal issues, capital punishment, and community corrections programs and issues.
CJ 400 Criminal Psychology

This course introduces the deductive profiling method developed from existing profiling methods, psychological theory, and the forensic sciences. Deductive profiling is different from other forms of profiling in that it focuses on criminal profiling as an investigative process, solving real crime through an honest understanding of the nature and behavior of criminals. The course approaches each criminal incident as its own universe of behaviors and relationships.
CJ 420 Narcotics and Drug Abuse

This course evaluates conservative and liberal views on crime control proposals, guns and crimes, drug policies, the war on drugs, and the legalization of drugs. This course communicates complex ideas about how the criminal justice system operates and is affected by politics.

Addresses right of entry, enforcement authority, the permit system, building limits and types of construction, as well as fire protection systems and their maintenance.
