MTMI is the first to provide medical imaging professionals with access
to continuing education via live, interactive webinar simulcast technology

WAUKESHA, WI (May 16, 2013) – Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) will offer nearly all of its 2013 continuing education (CE) seminars for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in live webinar simulcast format, the first education institute in its field to offer this convenient, cost-effective option.

“We recognize that the healthcare delivery system is undergoing tremendous changes with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, as well as the impact of sequestration, both of which have created pressure on training budgets,” said Ed Barnes, president of MTMI. “These budget pressures have made it more difficult for healthcare organizations to pay for all of the training that their professionals require, plus their travel to seminar locations, so we developed webinars and the new interactive webinar simulcast format to help them bridge that financial gap while still experiencing a high quality educational experience.”

The simulcast is a simultaneous streaming of the live program over the internet that enables students to be part of the live cyber-audience with the same opportunity to ask questions or hear others’ questions of the instructor, providing the same educational experience as the classroom students receive.  MTMI also offers many programs via live webinar.

Barnes added, “Students have told us they like the convenience of participating from anywhere there is an internet connection, which allows them to more easily fit continuing education into their busy lives.”

Education that requires hands-on training with medical imaging equipment will continue to be delivered as live classroom and laboratory experiences.  MTMI will also continue to offer an array of courses and seminars in the classroom throughout the U.S. and Canada for individuals who prefer to learn in a face-to-face setting.

Simulcast, webinar and live seminar schedules are available on the MTMI website at www.mtmi.net.

Program Offered Nationwide by Herzing University to Help Connect People with Careers, as Unemployment Remains High, but Skills Shortages Emerge for Employers

ORLANDO (October 5, 2011) – Herzing University – Orlando announced today that it is offering a new, free College Preparation Course for individuals who have thought about continuing their education but aren’t quite sure they’re ready. The program is part of a nationwide initiative by Herzing University to lend a hand to individuals who need additional education and training to improve their career potential, but are reluctant to make the commitment due to fears about everything from study skills to work-life balance.

“We hear from so many potential students who really want to pursue additional education to help them move up to better jobs and careers, but they really need the support and confidence to proceed and make that investment in themselves,” said Renée Herzing, president of Herzing University. “We’re making this investment of free classes for students nationwide across all 12 locations as well as Herzing University Online, in an effort to help both individuals and employers to succeed, with skills and education that are aligned with today’s workforce.”

Although the unemployment rate in the Orlando area remains high, employers are concerned about the inability to find skilled employees to fill jobs in many of the high-growth career areas where Herzing University – Orlando focuses its curriculum. The flexibility offered by Herzing University – Orlando to take courses on campus, online or a combination of both, is an important factor for working adults, particularly those with young families.

“This free college preparation course is designed to help everyone from high school students who want to see if small class sizes and one-on-one attention will help them be successful in college, to working parents who are concerned about whether they can succeed in juggling the demands of work, school and family,” said Heatherann Antonacci, campus president of Herzing University – Orlando. “We’re giving them the opportunity to see what it’s like to learn on campus or online, and find a program that fits their interests and lifestyle.”

The free College Preparation Course is offered as an eight-week program on-campus for individuals who prefer classroom instruction. For those who prefer the flexibility of online classes, the College Preparation Course is also offered as a four-week online class.

Limited space is available for the next class, which begins on October 31. Potential students can find more information by calling 1-800-596-0724.

NEW “P.A.C.E.” PROGRAM ELIMINATES OBSTACLES TO FINISHING A BACHELOR’S DEGREE

TOLEDO, OH (July 15, 2013) Two local schools have joined forces to help make obtaining a bachelor’s degree more affordable. The presidents ofHerzing University – Toledo and Northwest State Community College held a signing ceremony to announce a new P.A.C.E. program, which gives students an education option that is Progressive, Attainable, Convenient, and Economical. The collaboration offers students the best of both worlds: the cost efficiencies of a Northwest State education combined with the career-focused recognition of Herzing University.

The cost of higher education, the challenges of a work-school-family balance, and other potential obstacles are discouraging many students from pursuing a college education. This initiative looks to remove some of those barriers, making students’ dreams to better their lives through education a reality.

“While many colleges and universities are usually in competition to enroll students, we recognize that collaborations should be happening instead to make higher education more affordable and accessible,” said Greg Guzman, president of Herzing University’s Toledo campus. “The P.A.C.E. program is all about the student—which is the way it should be.”

"As a community college, Northwest State is pleased to be working with Herzing to provide new opportunities that will allow our students to move forward with their education beyond the associate degree,” said Dr. Thomas Stuckey, Northwest State Community College president. “Our students are looking for flexible options that will build on their current skills and gain the knowledge needed to advance in their chosen career field."

Currently students are able to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, which includes the highly-sought after SAP educational component, and already there are plans to add degrees in technology, healthcare, and public safety to the program offerings.

To take advantage of the P.A.C.E. program, students would complete two-thirds (or three years) of their coursework through Northwest State Community College, which offers a lower per-credit hour cost of a community college. Students would then finish the final third (or one year) of their bachelor’s degree through Herzing University – Toledo. The two schools are compatible because both institutions are regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and are members of the North Central Association.

As a matter of convenience, Herzing University – Toledo has the ability to offer a student’s remaining business courses either in the classroom or online. As Lucas County’s first SAP University Alliance Institution, Herzing University – Toledo also is in a unique position to offer training that is in great demand by local corporations and businesses.

“Herzing’s bachelor’s in business management degree helps to bridge the gap between higher education and the needs of Northwest Ohio’s employers,” said Guzman. “Those who pursue this business management degree will position themselves competitively for any future openings at some of the region’s largest and most prestigious companies.” Sixty percent of all businesses globally run on the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform.  Locally, companies such as Owens-Illinois, Owens Corning, The Andersons, The City of Toledo, Marathon Oil, Cooper Tire, Rexam, Chrysler, Ford, and Pilkington use the software platform to manage their businesses. Their need for a qualified and trained workforce is well-established.

Those interested in learning about the P.A.C.E. initiative should contact Herzing University – Toledo Director of Admissions Corey Heiserman at 419.776.0300 or the Northwest State Community College admissions department at 419.267.5511.
