Associate of Science in
Radiologic Technology Program
This selective and limited-enrollment program prepares graduates for entry-level positions in hospitals and clinics. Students gain the theory and principles of radiation production as well as learn radiographic techniques and the fundamentals of patient care.
Classes not only feature traditional lectures, videos, slides and textbooks but also hands-on experience at Herzing’s on-campus lab and in actual clinics. Students completing the program will be eligible to take the national registry exam offered by the ARRT and for Florida State Licensure.
Certificate in Computed Tomography
The Certificate in Computed Tomography program is specially designed for students who are already experienced, registered technologists. It helps them build on their current credentials in Radiography RT (R), Radiation Therapy RT (T), Nuclear Medicine RT (NM) or NMTCB, OR Ultrasound RT (US) or RDMS to provide the professional credentials that will be needed to receive reimbursement from Medicare for MRI, CT, PET, and Nuclear Medicine procedures.
This program is designed to give professionals continuing career security as well as prepare graduates for new opportunities.
Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Due to the efforts of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Congress passed a new law that will be effective January 2012. This law mandates that medical imaging providers be accredited by the American College of Radiology in order to receive reimbursement from Medicare for MRI, CT, PET, and Nuclear Medicine procedures.
Our Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging program is designed to help today’s radiologic technologists meet this new requirement. If you are a registered technologist in Radiography RT (R), Radiation Therapy RT (T), Nuclear Medicine RT (NM) or NMTCB, OR Ultrasound RT (US) or RDMS, taking this 16-credit program will give you the professional credentials you need to continue to advance your career. A certificate in magnetic resonance imaging from Herzing University shows that you have kept completely up-to-date in the latest practices of your field. Taking advantage of this program now not only offers continued career security but also opens the door to supervisory and administrative positions.

Faculty Spotlight

I discovered as a radiology manager that I enjoyed mentoring staff—helping them grow and build their career skills. As a radiology instructor, I have the opportunity to help students improve their lives and enter the career that I have loved. I enjoy watching the students when a concept becomes clear and their enthusiasm is infectious as they find they love taking care of patients. I am thrilled at each story they tell me of grateful patients and classroom information that works well for them in the field. I feel I am leaving a bit more of myself with them, leaving them with a rewarding career and my patients with an excellent next generation of caregivers.
