A few years ago, I met with and spoke to one of Herzing’s advisors regarding the programs Herzing was able to offer me. At the time, I wasn’t in a position to attend classes, but I found the interaction with that advisor so positive that I decided to attend Herzing once I was in a better position.
Once I got started, I found that balancing my professional and personal life was going to be a huge challenge to overcome. I was a single mother working full-time, studying and even moving homes while attending classes. It was not easy!
One thing kept me going, however: perseverance. It’s a word that we often use at home, and I believe that it’s important to teach my daughter that if you put your mind toward something, you can achieve it.
Now that I have my bachelor’s degree, I’m planning on continuing my journey toward becoming a CNL.
For all future students out there, I recommend this: stay focused and keep a plan. Take everything one step at a time and you’ll be successful. It’s not a race!
