I was looking for a nursing program that would accommodate my schedule. That’s why I attended Herzing’s BSN program. Even though it took me 3 years, it allowed me to work at my own pace and was flexible with my schedule. I was even able to schedule my classes around work and vice versa, which was such a huge help.
For me, the transition to remote learning because of the pandemic was tough. Thankfully, the instructors and Herzing staff checked in from time to time to make sure we were doing okay. Although it was cut short because of the pandemic, my Adult Health 2 class and my clinical were the most useful classes that I took. I feel like I really learned a lot of valuable information from them.
I learned a lot from Professor Fisher and Professor Kawaki. They both went above and beyond to make sure that we understood the material and got any help that we needed. During my clinical, Professor Kawaki always placed us with nurses who enjoyed having students shadow them because she knew that would provide the best learning experience. Professor Fisher and Professor Hurst were also incredibly approachable and always willing to help. I’m so happy I learned from all of them!
After graduation and passing my NCLEX, I plan to continue working at the hospital I’m currently at. Instead of being a PCT, however, I’m going to be an RN!
