Morgan Dodd
Morgan Dodd knew exactly what she wanted: a nursing program that would accommodate her family's schedule while maintaining high academic standards. She found her perfect match at Herzing University's Akron campus, where she completed her Accelerated Associate of Nursing degree in 2024.
"The program's proximity to home, flexible scheduling and NCLEX pass rates made Herzing the clear choice for me," says Dodd, who graduated with honors and maintained a GPA of nearly 4.0.
Making an Impact Beyond the Classroom
While pursuing her degree, Dodd actively contributed to the campus community. As a member of the Student Development Committee, she organized charitable initiatives including baking cookies for the Ronald McDonald House and coordinating donations for a women and children's domestic violence shelter.
Turning Education into Career Success
Today, Dodd serves as a Registered Nurse in the Rapid Observation unit, where she puts her education into practice. Her journey from student to healthcare professional wasn't always easy, but it taught her valuable lessons.
"I learned that sacrifices are sometimes needed to achieve your goals," Dodd reflects. "But I am now living my dream and couldn't be more thankful!"
Words of Wisdom for Future Students
To current and future students, Dodd offers encouraging advice: "Do not give up! The days may feel long, but you will look back one day very soon and think how fast the time went. Always remain humble and teachable and never be afraid to ask for help. Use the resources available to you. Most importantly, stay positive and give yourself the self-care and love you deserve along your school journey.”
