Lodi School District art students have new equipment, thanks to Herzing. HU donated 15 art easels thanks to the coordination of Lodi Middle School principal David Dyb and Lodi faculty member Beth Sokol, saving the system the expense of purchasing the easels for approximately $1,200. The easels will be shared equally by Lodi Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. The district was also offered about two dozen stools (valued at $500) for the Tech Education classroom.
Both Lodi Middle School and Herzing University are hoping this is just the beginning of partnering between the two institutions. Principal Dyb suggested other areas for Herzing University involvement including utilizing the Career Development staff for mock interviews for the eighth grade class, Herzing faculty visits to the campus, and middle student field trips to HU so they can be exposed to various career paths and student life on a college campus.
