Four Herzing University - Orlando students have been awarded cash scholarships based on their altruistic goals. The students entered videos outlining how receiving a scholarship would impact them, their families, and ultimately the community in a scholarship contest that began last May. Lauren Sperling, physical therapist assisting, Jason Davis, physical therapist assisting, Kenneth Malone, nursing, and Michael Saylor, physical therapist assisting, were the winners.
Fourteen students submitted three-minute videos that were posted on the campus Facebook page. The top four videos with the most votes were winners.
Lauren Sperling ($2000) - Selected as best video by the Campus Scholarship Committee
Jason Davis ($2000) - Most votes received on Facebook
Kenneth Malone ($500) - Among the

Michael Saylor ($500) - Among the

Campus president Heather Antonacci applauded the winners calling them hard-working and deserving.“I have the privilege of seeing first-hand the impact education has on an individual,” Antonacci said.
“As adult learners, our students have learned to overcome the obstacles that may get in their way and stay focused on their dreams and professional goals. It is gratifying to observe the transformation that occurs and know that the university played a role in their success.” Enrollment was not necessary for entry, but finalists and winners were required to begin classes on or before January 9, 2012 to claim scholarship money. A total of 14 students entered the contest. Visit Herzing University - Orlando on Facebook! (Click on videos)
