During my time in the military, I heard that Herzing University had good online degree programs in the medical field, which interested me greatly. I was hesitant, though, because I also wanted to be able to spend time with my family without too many interruptions. Thankfully, that wasn’t a problem at Herzing.

My classes helped me better understand what was expected of a professional medical office administrator, and I feel very prepared for my career.

I would not have made it without the helpful people in my life and at Herzing! My husband, instructors, and career development coach all helped me immensely, especially during rough patches like when I lost a family member. With help from them, I was able to overcome the grief and keep myself on track and stay successful.

During the journey, I was surprised at how much I wanted to keep learning. Honestly, I always thought I wasn’t good enough to go to college, but this helped prove me wrong. I’m officially a graduate, and I’m looking forward to starting my career at a veteran’s affairs hospital!

For those pursuing their degrees, I have this to say: be open to all the information given to you. Even if you feel it’s just a refresher of something you know, it’s important information that will benefit you long-term. Don’t be afraid to start down a new path -- it’s worth it!
