If you are a new Student, your benefits will be certified once you are fully enrolled - this will happen no sooner than Week 2 of classes.

If you are an existing student, we will work to certify benefits leading up to the start of classes, but may sometimes take a little longer.

The VA requires schools collect transcripts from all previous institutions and military training. Herzing will make every effort to obtain transcripts to comply with the requirement to evaluate and grant credit where appropriate.

If the DD-214 is requested, we require the Member 4 or Service-2 showing character of service upon discharge.

You must apply for a COE (on www.va.gov)—the VA will mail it to you. Veterans may be able to access a summary of their Post 9/11 benefits online at the E-benefits website here https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage

To receive military benefits, we need the following:
1- Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
2 -Transcripts from all previous institutions and military training

If you believe you may be eligible for a VA Chapter Benefit, would like to find out, or are curious about what benefits you have remaining, you can:

2) Call the VA Hotline 888-GIBILL-1

If you believe you may be eligible for a VA Chapter Benefit or would like to find out, you will need to visit www.VA.gov and apply for Education Benefits.

If you believe you may be eligible for Federal Tuition Assistance or would like to find out, please contact your education officer.

When federal loan funding comes into the school and is applied to your account, you will be sent a disbursement notification.

This notification does not mean that funds are coming to you; it only means that the funding has come into the school to pay down your tuition and fees.
