What first caught my attention about Herzing were the commercials featuring women of color celebrating their success with their children. I knew I wanted to be just like them. I was immediately inspired to reach out, so I got in touch with an advisor.
Originally, I had applied to one of Herzing’s nursing programs, but after discussing my options with my advisor, decided to pursue the medical assisting program instead—and I’m so glad I did!
While I had a great experience, I found some classes challenging, and I needed to repeat one. However, Herzing helped me develop a plan and gave me the time I needed to complete my work, providing me with a real chance at success. The courses emphasized the P.R.I.C.E. of Success approach, teaching me valuable skills in understanding and interacting with others.
I am excited to share that I received a job offer from the place where I interned as a medical assistant. It felt like a place where I truly belonged, and I knew they valued me as more than just a number!
My advice to anyone considering this path is to go for it. You never know what you can achieve until you try!
