Alumni Receives Distinguished Award

Tyrone McCall, a graduate of the Herzing University in Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety degree, was honored by the Hoover Chamber of Commerce in February 2012 for his service with the city of Birmingham. Tyrone was presented with the Detention Officer of the Year Award for his leadership role in creating a transport team which moved prisoners to the Federal Courthouse. McCall also was recognized for his service in the field where he successfully transported 53 suspects to the Hoover jail, enabling the patrol officers to focus on their assigned areas. He demonstrated professionalism and teamwork. Herzing University is proud of Tyrone McCall for his dedication and hard work.
