In late September, hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the Virgin Islands less a week apart, leaving catastrophic devastation in their wake. With limited medical supplies available to treat the wounded, the Islands were in critical need of aid.
Surgical technology students and instructors at Herzing-New Orleans responded to the call for help by collecting unused medical supplies to support hurricane relief efforts. Boxes full of medical supplies from Herzing New Orleans were scheduled for delivery to the Islands.
“We believe in serving our people, so we are trying to do our part, no matter how small it may be,” said Surgical Technology Program Instructor Stephanie Allen. “We want to thank everyone that helped or contributed to this effort.”
