Elizabeth S. Markham Ph.D., R.N

Senior System Dean for Nursing Program

Elizabeth Markham oversees all aspects of the nursing programs at Herzing University to include the LPN, BSN, RN to BSN, and MSN nursing programs. Dr. Markham’s previous experiences include nursing program director at Bryant & Stratton College; faculty positions at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), Fayetteville State University, and North Carolina Central University; and nurse manager and clinical positions at Duke University Medical Center. She has experience in nursing program planning and curriculum, and program accreditation. Dr. Markham serves on the Wisconsin Nurses Association board and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the National Black Nurses Association.


Catherine N. Kotecki Ph.D, APrN, RN

Department Chair for Online Nursing Programs

Catherine Kotecki is the Department Chair for Online Nursing where she leads Herzing’s MSN nursing programs and RN to BSN Online program faculty and staff. Certified as an adult clinical nurse specialist by the ANCC, Dr. Kotecki has 35 years of nursing education, administration and research experience. She has experience in program development, curriculum evaluation, and outcomes management. Dr. Kotecki serves as a visitor for the Accreditation commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and has served in leadership roles in organizations such as Sigma Theta Tau.
