A pinning ceremony held Friday evening, May 2, 2014, marked the passage of Herzing University - Toledo medical assisting students into the professional world and an allied healthcare career. These students recently completed their studies, took their certification exams and finished an externship as part of their healthcare education, allowing them to put into practice everything they have learned in their associate degree program.
Gamasutra, the game development industry’s informant, conducts themed design challenges. This month, Josh Douglas, a Herzing Madison Game Development Student, was recognized as having one of the top 5 submissions to the competition. It is an honor to be selected, as the competition is open for all levels of entries, from game enthusiast to development professional. There are hundreds of entries, both domestic and international, that are submitted to the competition.
If you have completed courses at other colleges or universities, we encourage you to bring in copies of your transcripts so we can evaluate them for potential transfer credit opportunities. Transferring in credits and classes from other universities can decrease your program completion time and cost. Herzing University - Brookfield prides itself in working hard to transfer in as many credits as possible to ensure you are only taking the courses needed to complete your program of study.
Herzing University - Madison celebrates the excellence of our students and is proud announce the achievement of business student, Kimberly Morrill. Morrill, while working toward her bachelor's in business management degree at Herzing, also earned a certificate for completing Monomoy Boot Camp, where she and her team were assigned a real-world business project. The project required the team to study the progress of operation closely and implement changes to foster greater efficiency and cost savings.
Herzing University - Madison and the Urban League of Greater Madison announced a new partnership to help serve the employees and members of the Urban League in furthering their professional development and educational goals. This unique partnership with the Urban League will provide a special scholarship to Urban League employees, which will help lower the cost of pursing a degree. The partnership also includes one full scholarship for the Herzing University MBA program per year.
Herzing University - Madison Alumni Erica Marty was awarded one of the top 40 Under 40 in Madison by InBusiness Magazine. Marty has been a Herzing University student in multiple programs. She graduated with an Associate Degree in CAD Drafting Design in 2003; Bachelor's of Technology Management in 2006, and finished her MBA in 2010. She currently oversees Eppstein Uhen Architects' building information modeling technology consulting group, and she’s now involved in all phases of project management.
In January, the Herzing University - Madison student organization Phi Beta Lamba (PBL) - Future Business Leaders organized a clothing donation and volunteer drive for the River Food Pantry. The goal was to collect 150 lbs of clothes and gather a few volunteers for the pantry's cause. Bringing together students, staff, and faculty, the campus far exceeded this goal to donate over 417 lbs of food and 8 volunteers!
In February, Bill Vinson joined Herzing University as the Campus President. His passion is hearing students' dreams and contributing to seeing those dreams come true. Mr. Vinson believes the two things we should bring to our careers every day are: (1) A passion for helping other people, and (2) A competitive spirit to do things better than the day before.
