Herzing University-Akron recently announced that its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program has been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for five years.

CCNE is an autonomous national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. Accreditation by CCNE shows that Herzing’s BSN program is sufficient across several criteria, including institutional resources, quality curriculum and teaching practices and program outcomes related to completion rates, pass rates and employment

Herzing University Kenosha Campus President Jeff Hill was recently elected to join the Board of Directors for the United Way of Kenosha, an organization dedicated to improving the community in key areas of education, health and financial stability.

“The United Way shares our passion for making a positive impact in the community and their mission aligns closely with the values of our university,” said Hill. “I’ve been consistently impressed with the work they’ve done and jumped at the opportunity to play a larger role in supporting their efforts when asked.”

To help meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare support professionals, Herzing University has expanded its suite of healthcare program offerings to include associate- and diploma-level medical billing and medical coding programs.

Through Herzing’s new medical coding program, students gain coding skills for both inpatient (hospital) and outpatient care contexts. Graduates of the associate’s medical coding program are fully prepared for entry-level medical coding positions at doctor’s offices, hospitals, clinics and a variety of healthcare settings.

Herzing University recently announced the launch of a new practical nursing diploma program at its Akron campus, which will train students to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs).

Students will receive classroom instruction from experienced and supportive nursing leaders and will participate in hands-on learning in Herzing's nursing skills lab and simulation lab, as well as through required clinical experiences.

More than 100 nursing, business, healthcare, technology and public safety graduates received their diplomas from Herzing University-Birmingham at the commencement ceremony on May 18, 2018 at the Pelham Civic Center in Pelham, Alabama.

Herzing University President Renee Herzing opened the ceremony, offering her own personal “recipe for success” and words of encouragement to the graduates as they embark on their career journeys.

Herzing-Birmingham also recently celebrated 53 nursing graduates with a pinning ceremony on May 11, 2018 at the Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church.

Three game design students from Herzing-Madison (Ryan Gill, Briana Dinkins and Chris Yaun) were recently selected as top entries in the Game Design Challenge, an international competition by video game industry news and blog site Gamasutra.com. The competition receives hundreds of entries each year, ranging from professional developers to aspiring students.

Herzing University-Atlanta will relocate from its current space in Buckhead to the historic Hurt Building in downtown Atlanta starting in late summer 2018. The new 30,000-square-feet space will allow Herzing to accommodate its growing student population.

Herzing-Atlanta celebrated May 2018 graduates at Grad Fest on April 27, 2018. Campus President Chris Chavez and Academic Dean Michael Velarde-Bell congratulated the graduates, and faculty and staff members in attendance also offered their words of encouragement.

You can earn your MSN in nursing education in as few as 16-20 months depending on the degree you currently hold. We recommend you sit for the Certified Nurse Educator exam. It’s not a requirement, but it will give you an edge on the job market. Completing the MSN in Nursing Education program from Herzing University makes you eligible to register for the exam.

Once you pass the exam and become a certified nurse educator you’ll have the credentials you need to start making an impact on the lives of nursing students in a clinical or college/university environment.
