Herzing University game development students were joined by students from five other local schools to enjoy a challenging weekend of game development while making new friends and exchanging tips and tricks. Global Game Jam is not a competition, but a challenge extended for the purpose of increasing the confidence of participants and establishing a network of professionals through idea-sharing, experimentation, and plain old fun.
Once again, the students in the Game Development Program at Madison have been recognized. The International Game Publication, Gamasutra.com, runs a series of design competitions based on various subjects related to professional game development. This past challenge was to design a series of games for the recently released Nintendo Wii-U game system.

The Herzing University Transitions program is designed to help high school seniors-to-be earn college credits while attending high school. Interested students may attend Herzing University - Toledo to take one course, tuition-free.

Herzing University’s Badge-to-Grad Scholarship Program is designed to improve the professional and personal lives of those dedicated to a career in public safety. At Herzing University, certified firefighters and police officers can receive a scholarship that reduces the cost of tuition for undergraduate classes. The scholarship includes access to books and is based upon continuous enrollment in most degree programs.

Herzing University - Madison has introduced a new Bachelor of Science degree for individuals who would like to design and implement mobile applications that are used daily on millions of smart phones and tablet computers. The Bachelor of Science in Software Development program with a concentration in Mobile Application Development is focused on developing applications for Apple, Android and Windows phones and tablets.

Recruiters from several federal agencies came to campus from 6 to 8 pm Monday, June 6 to underscore the importance of a degree in criminal justice when applying for certain federal jobs. Representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Secret Service, State Highway Patrol, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and several law enforcement sectors answered questions and talked with the approximately 60 students in attendance.
