Herzing University

Herzing University is a community. A part of feeling connected is engaging with your instructor and your classmates. Every class has an online discussion every week that allows you to interact with your classmates. You can also connect with Herzing through social media like Facebook and there are social forums within our online learning management system. We also recommend that you take the time to get to know the staff and faculty that are there to assist you. By building relationships with your admissions advisors, Student Services specialists, and instructors, you are connecting with Herzing!

Herzing University offers multiple resources for you to be successful. You can reach out to your faculty to request assistance with a class concern. You are also assigned to a Student Services Specialist who is there to help you in navigating your academic schedule. We also have an online tutoring center and librarians who are there to help. The great thing about these people is that they are regularly available via email and can schedule a time to talk over the phone that works for you and for them.

With online classes, you have the ability to do your work at any time of the day or night. However, to be successful, you need to devote scheduled time to your class work. It will be difficult if you plan to do your work for a few minutes here and there. We recommend that you schedule specific blocks of time each day or several days per week that you will be focused on your class or classes.

Studying online is a great opportunity to get an excellent college education without leaving the comfort of your own home. One of the important things to note about online learning is that you need to be motivated and self-disciplined. You are able to engage with the course material in a way that works best for you, but you need to be organized and motivated to work consistently on your classwork. You have access to resources such as faculty, tutoring, and library services, but you need to be able to learn independently as well.

All of the academic admissions requirements are the same. Therefore, you must satisfy our English Proficiency Requirements, successfully graduate from high school for a Bachelor degree, and if you are pursuing a Master degree, you will need to have successfully completed a U.S. Equivalent 4 year Bachelor degree with a Grade Point Average of a 2.7. It is not necessary for you to submit a copy of your financial support nor your passport, as you will not be applying for a U.S. visa. You will still need to provide us with a copy of a National Identification Card to confirm your identity.

During the holiday season, Herzing-Akron has collaborated with Akron Hope, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving education and quality of life for impoverished youth, on the organization’s Adopt-A-Classroom program. On Giving Tuesday, November 28, Herzing students and faculty collected toys and gift donations for three classrooms of students at Firestone Elementary School.
