Herzing University-Brookfield is moving its campus to the Brookfield Square area, a bustling shopping center located off Interstate 94. The City of Brookfield has approved renovation plans for the 23,000-square-foot building along Bluemound Road, which will provide more space and easier access for Milwaukee-area students.

Herzing University-Kenosha recently held its inaugural BASH gala to celebrate the success of students and distinguished faculty. Attendees enjoyed an awards presentation followed by dinner and raffles and live entertainment by local entertainer The Eddie Butts Band.

Herzing University is proud to introduce a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the New Orleans campus that will give students a chance to graduate and get into the workforce quicker than some traditional programs.

Enrollment is open for the program, which will help address the ongoing regional demand for registered nurses and the push by healthcare providers to ensure their nurses have bachelor's degrees.

Herzing University-Brookfield was proud to sponsor and participate in the Cream City Foundation’s LGBTQ+ Health Conference last month. The goal of the event was to promote discussion about diversity in healthcare and to improve access, quality and equity in the design and delivery of healthcare for LGBTQ+ populations in the Milwaukee region.

Two Herzing University-Kenosha students, Ayesha Ransom and Alyssa Murata, have been selected to serve on the Wisconsin Student Nursing Association (WSNA) Board. The students were honored at the 70th Annual WSNA Convention on February 1.

Ayesha Ransom was elected Southern Regional Director and will serve as the “go-to” WSNA representative for the southern Wisconsin region. Alyssa Murata was elected to serve as the Breakthrough to Nursing Director, whose duties include increasing awareness about the nursing profession and encouraging students to choose nursing as a career.

Herzing University has partnered with one of Wisconsin’s top Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training organizations to bring additional nursing education classes to its Madison campus.

The company, Quality CNA Training, offers a six-week program for those who want to begin their healthcare career as a nurse assistant. Students are prepared to sit for the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP), a required state licensing examination for CNAs. The new location at Herzing University-Madison opened on January 28.

Gwen Gernenz, a CNA who takes evening BSN classes at Herzing University-Kenosha, was recently recognized for helping save someone’s life in a Costco parking lot.

Pleasant Prairie (WI) Fire Chief Craig Roepke formally thanked Gwen and a Costco employee during a town board meeting for their quick action in starting CPR and using an AED machine to resuscitate a woman who was in cardiac arrest. The woman regained consciousness before paramedics arrived to transport her to the hospital.

Herzing University-Akron is proud to announce Cornelius Miller as the recipient of its P.R.I.C.E of Success Scholarship for the winter semester. Miller is working toward his bachelor of science in computer programming at Herzing and is expected to graduate in August 2021.

The scholarship is awarded to students who exemplify the P.R.I.C.E behaviors of professionalism, respect, integrity, caring and engagement.
