Three game design students from Herzing-Madison (Ryan Gill, Briana Dinkins and Chris Yaun) were recently selected as top entries in the Game Design Challenge, an international competition by video game industry news and blog site Gamasutra.com. The competition receives hundreds of entries each year, ranging from professional developers to aspiring students.

Herzing University-Atlanta will relocate from its current space in Buckhead to the historic Hurt Building in downtown Atlanta starting in late summer 2018. The new 30,000-square-feet space will allow Herzing to accommodate its growing student population.

Herzing-Atlanta celebrated May 2018 graduates at Grad Fest on April 27, 2018. Campus President Chris Chavez and Academic Dean Michael Velarde-Bell congratulated the graduates, and faculty and staff members in attendance also offered their words of encouragement.

You can earn your MSN in nursing education in as few as 16-20 months depending on the degree you currently hold. We recommend you sit for the Certified Nurse Educator exam. It’s not a requirement, but it will give you an edge on the job market. Completing the MSN in Nursing Education program from Herzing University makes you eligible to register for the exam.

Once you pass the exam and become a certified nurse educator you’ll have the credentials you need to start making an impact on the lives of nursing students in a clinical or college/university environment.

Na’Kaisha Hughes is looking forward to attending Herzing University next fall. In partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Kensoha, Wisconsin, Herzing University awards two full-tuition scholarships to Club members each year. Hughes is one of this year’s deserving recipients.

Hughes, a first-generation college student, plans on earning her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

“I’d like to be a probation officer and also work with at-risk kids and teens,” she said. “I’m excited to get started!”

Herzing-Madison IT program chair Joseph Cann spoke with middle school and high school students about careers in information technology at the first-ever Spring Break Gaming and Coding Day on March 27, 2018.

Students had the opportunity to learn about computer coding, video gaming and related careers from a variety of exhibitors, including Acme Nerd Games, LLC, Filament Games, Gear Learning and Mad Marker Studios. Madison Mayor Paul Soglin also spoke about the importance of information technology both now and in the future.

Nursing and PTA students at Herzing University - Brookfield recently hosted a donation drive benefiting Hearts in Motion, a non-profit organization serving people in Guatemala.

Organized by nursing instructor Linda Philips, students collected walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, canes and other equipment that will be shipped to medical facilities in the country.
