An MSN in Nursing Informatics is a master's degree, and the post master's certificate assumes you’ve already earned an MSN (either a general MSN or in another specialty).
Instead of repeating an entire master's degree, it provides focused graduate study in nursing informatics. Herzing requires certificate students to have completed advanced health assessment, advanced pathophysiology, and advanced pharmacology before acceptance; in many cases, those courses will already have been completed as part of a previous MSN.
