The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management curriculum builds on foundational HIT knowledge with advanced study in data governance, compliance, revenue cycle management, healthcare analytics, and leadership.
Students also develop higher-level coding skills, evaluate the use of AI-generated information in health information practice, and complete a management-focused capstone that applies strategic decision-making, quality improvement, and information governance to real-world healthcare challenges.
All courses are delivered 100% online via the Canvas learning management system. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the AHIMA’s Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA®) certification exam.

- Entrance testing. Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to succeed in college-level courses via prior ACT/SAT scores, completion of prior college credit, or additional entrance testing.

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Graduates of the Associate of Science in Health Information Management are eligible to take the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Eligibility:
Only those who successfully:
- Complete a bachelor's degree in a HIM program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) or are enrolled in their last term of study
