Amanda Ortiz
I knew I always wanted to work with people. I had worked in human resources before earning my degree which helped me understand and gain a passion for the career. I knew that I wanted something more for myself, so rather than going somewhere and being viewed as another number, I picked Herzing. Everyone at Herzing took the time to help me invest in my future.
I enjoyed the hybrid classes. It allowed me to work full-time while attending school full-time. I am a hands-on learner, so I was able to learn new concepts in class and then relate it to the workplace right away. It helped me a lot especially when I had to challenge myself and pull all-nighters to understand a concept.
I was always able to ask for help. Sometimes Herzing instructors would call or text me to introduce themselves or reach out if I was struggling. This is what made my experience so personal. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Pavone. She helped motivate me and hold me accountable during my capstone project.
I’m currently working in human resources at a logistics company. I am looking forward to a small break before I pursue my PHR Certification and learn Spanish.
