I chose Herzing because I originally wanted to continue my nursing career. At that time in my life, I kept seeing commercials for Herzing when I wasn't seeing many other universities promoting their programs. It caught my attention, and I decided to enroll in the nursing program.

Then life surprised me—I became pregnant. My priorities changed, and I wanted to be present for my children while continuing my education. I decided to change from nursing to an online Healthcare Administration program so I could remain in the healthcare field while having more flexibility for my family and myself.

It was not easy to accept changing the career path I originally wanted, but I eventually realized it was the better decision for my family and for me. Today, I am proud to have completed my associate degree in healthcare administration.

My biggest challenge was financial instability. There were times when continuing my education felt uncertain because I did not have the financial stability to easily cover my tuition. Thankfully, I had the support of my family. They encouraged me, supported me, and helped me keep going through the challenges of balancing school and being a mother.

Toward the end of my program, my dad even helped me pay my remaining tuition so I could finish strong. I am very grateful for his help, especially because I had to reach out and ask for that support. This experience reminded me how important having a strong support system can be when you are working toward a goal.

Herzing's online format gave me the flexibility to continue my education while managing my responsibilities at home. I was also able to transfer credits from previous college coursework, which helped me move through the program more efficiently and stay on track toward graduation.

I was surprised by how much I was capable of handling. There were moments when I questioned whether I could finish, but I kept going and eventually proved to myself that I could do it.

Now that I have completed my Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, I am looking for job opportunities where I can use what I have learned, gain professional experience, and continue growing in the healthcare field.

If I am fortunate enough to find the right job opportunity, I would like to continue working toward my bachelor's degree while pursuing my dream career. Graduation is not the end of my journey. It is the beginning of my next chapter.

Don't be afraid to change your path if your circumstances change. Keep going, ask for help when you need it, and remember that finishing may look different than you originally imagined—but that doesn't make the accomplishment any less valuable.
