Before returning to school, I had worked in a leadership position within a large hospital system. This position made me realize that management was not the path that I wanted to take, and that I wanted to interact with my patients directly.
I looked into several programs and noticed that Herzing had the most easily accessible staff available to answer my questions. They were always so incredibly kind and had many entrance points for their program versus just once or twice a year like other schools.
People tend to face challenges while in school, but mine was unique -- I found out I was pregnant! This was certainly a surprise that added plenty of challenges, especially since it was a high-risk pregnancy. Thankfully, I managed to continue through the entire pregnancy without taking any time off, even after my c-section. Everything ended up just fine!
All my courses and clinicals were valuable in their unique ways. What I learned the most, though, was that finding success meant I needed to keep pushing forward. The program is only a short period in your life, but the impact on your career will last a lifetime.
