Out of all the interesting programs Herzing offered, I chose Medical Billing and Coding because I loved the challenge it offered. I also knew that working in the healthcare industry would offer a steady career and that there would be tons of opportunities once I graduated.
During my studies, I found that every single teacher I had was helpful. However, it was certainly a challenge to study online since I’m a hands-on person that typically does better in person. Thanks to the support from my teachers combined with my hard work, I did eventually overcome this challenge!
I was surprised by the amount of time that I needed to put in so that I could succeed at an online degree. It can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking online education is easy, and this certainly proved that thought wrong. I decided to buckle down, learn how to set aside time for work, and I was able to find success in the end.
Now that I’m a grad, I plan on working at a hospital close to home and am currently considering continuing my education. This degree will always have you continue learning new things, and I’d recommend it to new students looking to advance their careers.
