I had a good friend who attended Herzing University while working and being a mom, and she inspired me to attend myself. I'm becoming a nurse because I want to make a positive difference in others’ lives and I have always loved helping and caring for people. I've worked as a patient care tech for about 10 years and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the last 3 years.
Herzing helped me complete my program by constantly encouraging me and offering tutoring when needed. I'm a mom of 7, so going back to school was very challenging, but it helped to have that constant encouragement from my instructors. All of my instructors played an important part in my education, but Ms. Lavas, Mrs. Lurie and Mrs. Blair were completely awesome.
For anyone who is pursing a nursing degree, I would encourage you to follow your dream. In the nursing program you will face challenges, but keep pushing on and you will succeed.
