I’ve always wanted to help individuals and families in need. It has always been my goal to get my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. When looking for online schools, I stumbled across Herzing. Admissions were phenomenal in getting me started and set up.
All the criminal justice courses that I took made me realize that a career helping people is absolutely what I wanted to do with my life. Although there weren’t many challenges, I certainly struggled with procrastination. I also worked full-time while finishing up my degree, so it was a struggle balancing everything. In the end, it was a huge reward doing both since I was able to graduate early.
I thought that after completing my degree I would become a police officer, but I decided to take my degree further. I will be continuing my education with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Once I complete that, I have a company that wants to hire me right away as a counselor. My goal is to help soldiers who are suffering from PTSD once I complete my masters
