I have been a Louisiana notary and paralegal for more than 14 years, and I felt that pursuing a degree in criminal justice, combined with my professional experience, would allow me to expand my services and fast-track my current career. I would like to someday become a parole or probation officer and I am especially interested in helping juveniles.
The greatest challenge for me was time management, because I work every day. Herzing provided the tools that helped me learn time management and be successful. I found that everyone at Herzing was very helpful, especially the financial aid staff and the IT department.
Towards the end of my degree program, I doubled my course load so that I could graduate faster. My classes also helped me create my resume and allowed me to participate in mock interviews, which were valuable preparation for my job search.
Herzing has a great criminal justice program. If you are focused, disciplined and committed, you will succeed.
