I had been working as a receptionist in a specialty clinic since graduating from high school. While I liked my job, I knew I wanted to do more than just answering the phones, checking patients in and collecting their copays. That’s why I decided to earn my Medical Billing and Coding degree. Earning my degree allowed me to advance in a field that I was already familiar with.
Herzing University’s New Orleans campus is only minutes from my home, so I knew that I had to at least check it out. I really loved the small classes since it allowed instructors to take time and assist each student. I found that they were able to offer further assistance outside the class if I was struggling, which was a huge help. They also offered many courses several days of the week and at different times so that I could work around my busy schedule.
After obtaining my certification, I would like to work under a small clinic or a women's clinic. I’m very excited for the future!
