Maximize transfer credit, minimize time and cost
The RN to BSN program offers the opportunity to transfer substantial credit earned from prior college coursework for those who are eligible.
You can potentially transfer up to 20 approved credits from prior college coursework into the RN to BSN program. This represents 75% of the total program semester credits (120), the time needed to complete the program, and cost of tuition.
There are two levels of transfer credit which comprise the total number:
- Block transfer from your degree/diploma. You can block transfer up to 70 credits from your current associate degree or diploma in nursing. The total number depends on how much credit you earned in the program.
- Additional credit from gen eds or electives. You may be able to transfer credit earned from certain types of general education or elective courses. This is how you can potentially bridge the gap from your block transfer credit total to 90.
Applying transfer credit is one of the most important parts of the application process, and our admissions advisors work hard to ensure you apply as much existing credit as possible into the RN to BSN program. Make sure you are prepared to submit all transcripts; you may be surprised which credits are transferable—so be sure to include everything.
If you have more specific questions about transferring credit from prior education, contact our admissions team and we can help guide you through the process.
