Herzing University Expands to 12th Campus with Grand Opening in Clarksville

Herzing University, an accredited, private nonprofit institution, celebrated the grand opening of its Clarksville campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, November 10. This event marked an important milestone in higher education and workforce development for the region – especially for the military community and local healthcare partners.
“As an institution founded by a veteran, service is at the heart of what Herzing University stands for,” said Laurna Taylor, Director of Campus Operations at Herzing University’s Nashville and Clarksville campuses. “Our Clarksville campus serves as a bridge for our military community, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills and discipline to in-demand healthcare and professional fields.”
Grand Opening Brings Together Community and Healthcare Leaders
Herzing University’s grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony drew local elected officials, healthcare partners, alumni and members of the military community.
During the ceremony, Senator Powers presented a State Proclamation recognizing Herzing University’s 60 years of service to students and the launch of its Clarksville campus. Attendees enjoyed guided tours showcasing state-of-the-industry simulation and nursing skills labs and connected with Herzing leadership, faculty and students to learn how the new campus will strengthen local education and workforce development.
A New Hub for Military and Career-Focused Learners
Located near Fort Campbell, the Clarksville campus is designed to help service members, veterans and their families successfully transition into civilian careers in nursing, healthcare, behavioral health, business, technology, legal studies and public safety with a mix of on-campus, hybrid and online programs.
Serving as a satellite location of Herzing’s Nashville campus, the Clarksville site reflects the growing demand for healthcare professionals in the region and underscores Herzing’s commitment to supporting adult learners and underserved communities.
The campus spans just over 24,000 square feet and features advanced simulation technology with neonatal and adult mannequins that replicate real-world clinical settings, giving students immersive, hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Addressing Tennessee's Nursing Shortage
Herzing University’s Clarksville campus is a vital investment in Tennessee’s healthcare future – addressing the state’s growing nursing shortage by preparing the next generation of skilled professionals.
The campus offers career-focused programs, including Diploma in Practical Nursing (DPN), Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) options. Herzing’s Nashville and Clarksville campuses recently earned accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program – a national recognition that affirms excellence in curriculum, faculty expertise and student achievement. This milestone underscores Herzing’s commitment to preparing skilled, compassionate nurses who meet the demands of today’s healthcare system.
