For over six decades, Herzing University has been at the forefront of career-focused education. Founded in 1965 by Henry and Suzanne Herzing, and now led by their daughter, President Renée Herzing, we've grown from a single computer training institute to a respected, multi-campus institution with 12 campuses across eight states offering a wide range of academic programs, as well as our online campus and programming.

While all 12 campuses share the same mission to educate, support and empower all students for success in work, learning and engagement in our communities and global society, each campus has its own unique history and contributions that it brings to the wider university system.

History and Building

Herzing has over 40 years of history serving Atlanta students. Herzing Atlanta was originally founded in 1949 as Massey Business College but was acquired by the Herzing Institute in 1979.

In September 2018, Herzing Atlanta moved to the Historic Hurt Building in downtown Atlanta. One of America’s earliest skyscrapers, the Hurt Building was the original location of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and is a prized example of the city’s rich architectural heritage. By moving to this new location, Herzing was able to offer students updated amenities, including a coffee shop, collaborative learning areas and simulation labs. This wouldn’t remain Herzing’s home for long.

In September 2024, Herzing University relocated to our current location at 5901 Peachtree Dunwoody Road NE in Sandy Springs. The new location was strategically selected to be close to key medical facilities and based on feedback from students and area employers who highlighted the need for students to have greater access to advanced technology and a more holistic learning experience.

The current campus has immediate access to I-285 and GA-400, and it is within walking distance of the Medical Center and Dunwoody MARTA rail stations, with robust food options in the area. Plus, students can enjoy complimentary parking on campus, although there are no dormitories or residence halls on site.

  • Programs in psychology, social work and health and human services.

We work hard to fully prepare you for success in your work and provide as much flexibility as possible to achieve the right school-life balance. Our admissions team can help you determine how much coursework you can potentially complete in the evenings.

Availability of evening or night classes varies by program and class type. General education courses can typically be completed online on your schedule. In some cases, certain classwork or exams may require a set login time.

BLS pay estimates calculate the median annual wage for various occupations. Per the BLS the median wage for an occupation is: "The wage at which half of the workers in the occupation earned more than that amount, and half earned less. Median wage data are from the BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey." Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook 2024. BLS median wage estimates do not represent entry-level wages and/or salaries. Multiple factors, including prior experience, age, geographic market in which you want to work, and degree level and field, will affect career outcomes, including starting salary and earnings as an experienced employee. Herzing neither represents that its graduates will earn the median salaries calculated by BLS for a particular job nor guarantees that graduation from its program will result in a job, promotion, particular wage or salary, or other career growth.
