For over six decades, Herzing University has been at the forefront of career-focused education. Founded in 1965 by Henry and Suzanne Herzing, and now led by their daughter, President Renée Herzing, we've grown from a single computer training institute to a respected, multi-campus institution with 12 campuses across eight states offering a wide range of academic programs, as well as our online campus and programming.

While all 12 campuses share the same mission to educate, support and empower all students for success in work, learning and engagement in our communities and global society, each campus has its own unique history and contributions that it brings to the wider university system.

History and Building

While Herzing University was founded in Milwaukee in 1965, the Brookfield campus is a fairly new addition to the University's campus locations.

The Brookfield campus opened in March 2010 at 555 S. Executive Drive in a new 15,000-square-foot campus. However, by 2019, it became clear that a larger building would be needed. The new campus location was only a mile away at 15895 West Bluemound Road near Brookfield Square Mall. The new 23,000 square-foot building allowed Herzing to upgrade classrooms and common areas, as well as expand its nursing labs and physical therapy assisting clinic.

In 2026, the campus expanded its facilities to provide another location option for students to complete the intensive experience. The site has been upgraded with new state-of-the-industry simulation and lab facilities to ensure a positive, intensive experience. Nursing students from across the country come to the Milwaukee area to immerse themselves in a range of hands-on activities tailored to their program and specialization.

Herzing Brookfield is entirely contained within a single professional building. A practical and commuter-friendly learning environment focuses on getting students in and out for classes and lab work at a location that is easily accessible by car and mass transit and offers plenty of free parking.

BLS pay estimates calculate the median annual wage for various occupations. Per the BLS the median wage for an occupation is: "The wage at which half of the workers in the occupation earned more than that amount, and half earned less. Median wage data are from the BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey." Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook 2024. BLS median wage estimates do not represent entry-level wages and/or salaries. Multiple factors, including prior experience, age, geographic market in which you want to work, and degree level and field, will affect career outcomes, including starting salary and earnings as an experienced employee. Herzing neither represents that its graduates will earn the median salaries calculated by BLS for a particular job nor guarantees that graduation from its program will result in a job, promotion, particular wage or salary, or other career growth.
